The Japan Institute of Welding hosted the IIW International Conference on Welding and Joining in Tokyo on 17 – 22 July 2022. The central theme of the conference was “Innovative Welding and Joining Technologies to achieve Carbon Neutrality and promote Sustainable Development”. The conference was scheduled for 6 days, from Sunday 17th to Saturday 18th. Furthermore, a panel discussion took place between the International Conference (IC) and the Technical Working Units (WUs) of IIW, connecting the two more smoothly and powerfully than ever before. After the panel discussion, all participants were invited to a Japanese Evening event in conjunction with the “IC-WUs Exchange Reception”. EWF collaborated with ISQ and submitted an abstract.
